Meet the STC-TC Leadership Team

Eileen Potter

President, Eileen Potter

For the past 12 years Eileen has been writing software documentation and marketing communication pieces. Currently, as a Senior Technical Writer at Kroll Ontrack, she enjoys mentoring other writers and developing her SharePoint skills.

As a member of STC-Twin Cities, Eileen has been a judge in the annual competition.

Eileen is interested in technical communication because she believes that good information development helps people, period. She likes the profession because it requires a blend of creative and analytical skills and it is continuously changing. She has enjoyed exploring a number of areas as her expertise or interests have changed (for example, information design, usability, visual information, HTML, XML, DITA). Eileen believes that everyone makes his or her career what they want it to be. Eileen is looking forward to working with the leadership team and community members to promote the profession and continue developing an interactive chapter environment (both physical and virtual) that supports each member's desire to share their skills and learn new ones.

Barbara Beresford

Vice President, Barbara Beresford

Barbara has been a technical writer and editor for 18+ years, the last 8 at L-1 Identity Solutions, where she writes user documentation for finger, face, and iris biometric technologies.

Her minimalist writing style reflects her preferred approach to helping users quickly identify why a specific software system is used, what tasks are performed with the system, and how the tasks are successfully completed. She also advocates for the end user by working with developers to improve GUI design and usability.

Outside of work, she enjoys the arts community in the twin cities, especially the theater, and plays the violin in a community orchestra. In the warmer months, she tends a large garden, featuring native plants and boulders.

Treasurer, Rhonda Lunemann

Rhonda Lunemann is involved with mobile application development as a technical writer at Siemens PLM and as a volunteer with the IEEE Phoenix Group assisting with the development of a blood pressure mobile application.  In addition, she has reviewed five mobile application development books in the past year for STC’s Technical Communication quarterly publication.

Susan Tapp, STC-TC Secretary

Secretary, Susan Tapp

My early career years were spent in the litigation support business, where I wrote many procedures and training materials for the projects that I supervised and managed.

After moving from Washington DC back home to Minneapolis in 1990, I moved into doing technical writing and business analysis at Supervalu, where I learned about software requirements management. In the past I have done contract work for 3M and MnSCU. I am currently working on a contract at Medtronic, doing an interesting project that is a combination of technical writing and requirements management.

I live in the Linden Hills neighborhood of Minneapolis with my two feline buddies, Cerie the black cat and Nala the tabby cat. I spend free time reading, doing volunteer work in the neighborhood, gardening, going to movies or theater, listening to music, and being a mentor to a 10-year-old girl through the Kinship organization. I have belonged to STCTC for a very long time, and am happy to be serving as secretary.
