Become a Judge!

Are you interested in evaluating quality technical communication? Are you an experienced technical communicator? Do you have 10 hours (spread over approximately a month) to volunteer your time to your local chapter? Consider volunteering to judge in the STC-TC annual competition.

It is no secret that the STC competitions remain the Society's premier professional development opportunity. Members and the community are invited to submit their best work for evaluation and possible awards. Judges receives entries and training in objective evaluation criteria. It is each judge's responsibility to evaluate one to three entries objectively and according to the criteria, communicate with the other judges on his or her team to reach a consensus, and complete all judging activity by agreed-upon dates.

We are currently seeking volunteer judges for the STC professional technical communication competition.

This year we are exchanging our submissions with the Texas Lone Star chapter.  (Some chapters exchange entries with other chapters for judging. This practice improves the quality of judging and avoids conflict of interest within the chapter.)
